White House EchucaJanuary 26, 2017
The White House is an alteration and addition to an existing 1940s art deco house, set in the historic town of Echuca.
The client initially wanted an exciting, weekend holiday house for their family, however, as the project progressed, the house developed to appeal to a wider audience for spectacular holiday accommodation.
The resulting house challenges the traditional notion of a weekend get-away, presenting an inviting, white-rendered façade to the street in a commanding, central, corner location in the ambient township atmosphere.
Understated quality epitomises the design of this luxury, four bedroom home, with accommodation for four to ten people. The stunning kitchen and main living areas open onto a superb entertaining area with a private, gas heated pool.
Set over two floors, the upper floor opens onto a sun-filled balcony overlooking the majestic Murray River. Circulation space opens onto an expansive void over the living area with the feature stairs laced with geometric, laser-cut steel.
The highlight of the internal finishes is the polished, black timber floor, highlighted by white joinery and elements of stainless steel to compliment the monochromatic design.
